Cy Hungerford

Cy Hungerford, Pittsburgh Post Gazette (1889 – 1983) Born in Manilla, IN, he lived as a child in  Parkersburg, WV.  As a boy, he practiced drawing by copying cartoons from newspapers, and his first published cartoon was in the Parkersburg Sentinel in 1903.  He later worked for the Wheeling Register and Pittsburgh Sun before becoming editorial cartoonist for the Pittsburg Post-Gazette.  He retired in 1977.  His many awards included a Golden Quill Award (1966), a Pennsylvania Award of Excellence (1970) and an honorary degree in arts from Washington and Jefferson College.

    I have a bunch of pictures I would to sell. They are Hungerford cartoons. It looks like some are from his personal collection. I have a whole collection including metal blocks for the print press. Please let me know if you are interested.
